Supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stormed the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to protest against the state rerun governorship election ordered by the commission.
INEC had on Sunday declared the Osun State governorship election inconclusive, scheduling Thursday for a rerun.
The protesters carried placards with various inscriptions such as “No To rerun, “INEC don’t conspire with APC” among others.
The protesters condemned the commission for not declaring the candidate of the PDP, Senate Ademola Adeleke, the winner of the election after polling the highest number of votes.
The protesters stated that majority of the voters wanted Adeleke as the state governor and wish of the people should be respected.
