Nigeria midfielder Mikel Agu has vowed to keep his performance on the high to earn a recall to the Super Eagles.
The Porto man, 25, is on a season-long loan to Vitoria de Setubal and was dropped for the three-time African champions 2018 World Cup outing despite playing some of the qualification series matches.
He has, however, said with his recent form for the Portuguese side, he hopes to get a recall to Gernot Rohr’s side as they run for a place at the 2019 African Cup of Nations.
“Maybe most people have forgotten, but I got my first call-up to the Super Eagles when I last played in Setubal, so if I keep my level high here, maybe I can get a recall to the team,” he told Complete Sports.
“All I need is to play and maintain a very high level of performance.”
