Rotherham United boss Paul Warne has said playing for Nigeria has helped Semi Ajayi’s confidence for the club.
The defender was invited for Nigeria’s last 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles which the team won 3-0.
He came on as a substitute in the clash as well as the exhibition game against Liberia few days later at the Sam Doe Stadium in Monrovia.
And Warne has said the invitation has changed the game for the Nigerian.
“He (Ajayi) is doing alright to be fair. I miss him in midfield really, but I think Woody likes playing beside him,” he said on Thursday.
“He is really assured and really confident. I think him getting a call-up has cemented his confidence.”
