Former Minister of Culture and Tourism Femi Fani-Kayode has insisted that the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) was abducted by the Nigerian military.
Former Abia State Governor Orji Kalu has stated on Tuesday that the IPOB leader is in London.
He said Kalu left Nigeria during the Operation Python Dance in the South East in 2017.
“Nnamdi Kanu is where I told you he is, he is in London. He is safe,” Kalu said.
Reacting in a post on Twitter on Wednesday, Fani-Kayode claimed that the statement by the former Abia governor is not true.
He wrote: “Even though we disagree politically, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu and I remain friends.
“I must, however, point out the fact that it is not true that Nnamdi Kanu is “safe and well” in London as he has suggested.
“Nnamdi was abducted by the Nigerian military one year ago and is still missing,” insisted FFK.
