Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos created a mild drama at the launch of ‘Africa Rise and Shine’, a book by Jim Ovia, chairman of Zenith Bank, when he ran towards the national leader of the ruling All progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, to take photographs.
Concise News understands that Ambode and the APC national leader have been in a strained relationship in recent times.
Though the governor has repeatedly denied the existence of such row between him and his estranged godfather, the rift took a dramatic turn at the Eko Hotels and Suites, venue of the book launch of the Zenith Bank chairman on Monday.
At the book launch, dignitaries, including public officials, were invited to the podium to take photographs with the author.
Initially, Ambode stood in between Ovia and Kolade but as photojournalists started taking shots, the Lagos governor jogged past the Zenith Bank chairman, Osinbajo to squeeze himself in between Tinubu and a woman on his estranged godfather’s left side.
The governor’s action elicited cheers, laughter and applause from those on the podium and many other guests.
Dignitaries that gathered on the podium for a group photo aside Ambode and Tinubu included Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo; Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa; Governor of Borno, Kashim Shettima; Dr Christopher Kolade, among others.
