Coach of the Ghana U-17 team Karim Zito has said his players were not disciplined enough following their loss to Nigeria on Saturday.
The Golden Eaglets won the final game of the qualification series for the 2019 African Youth Championship 3-1 on penalties.
The game had ended 1-1 on normal time with the win giving Nigeria a ticket to the 2019 Afcon.
However, Zito has lauded his players but said they made mistakes in the game.
“No. My boys weren’t tactically indisciplined,” a clearly disappointed Zito told reporters after the game.
“They played, we played. You make a mistake and they score you.”
“We made a mistake and then they scored. Without mistakes, goals will never be scored.”
