Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has called on Christians in the country to live by example and also be tolerant of others as they contribute to nation-building.
Osinbajo said this on Saturday in Benin City, the Edo State capital at the 50th anniversary of the Church of God Mission International (CGMI).
His lecture was captioned: “The Christian, Politics and National Building” as he urged Christians to be honest, righteous and contribute to the growth of their environment.
While quoting from Proverbs 14:34, he said “Righteousness is what exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to many people; every community that have followed the principle of righteousness are successful today.
“God has given us direction to lead the affairs of nations. He has equipped us and given us the mandate that we are the light of the World and we have to live by example.”
Also, he described the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa as a role model to many Christians in the country and beyond.
