Senator Ben Murray-Bruce (PDP-Bayelsa East) has described Mathew Seiyefa, a former director general of the Department of State Services (DSS), as a competent and loyal man.
Concise had reported that Yusuf Magaji Bichi had been appointed as the new DG of DSS by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Confirming Bichi’s appointment on Thursday evening, Buhari’s media aide Garba Shehu said the appointee was a core Secret Service operative.
In a post on Twitter, Murray-Bruce wrote: “Seiyefa was the ONLY Southerner heading an Intelligence agency.
“He was competent and loyal.
“In the interest of federal character and North-South balance, President Buhari should have retained him.
“Bichi may be competent, but how can all Intelligence be headed by Northerners?”
