Enyimba captain Mfon Udoh remains a player of the side despite reports of his exit from the seven-time Nigerian champions, the club said on Friday.
But the Aba-based side said Udoh, who is the Nigeria Professional Football League all-time record scorer, was suspended for misconduct and indiscipline.
Reports had emerged on Friday morning claiming that Udoh had called it quits with the Peoples Elephant.
However, Enyimba have denied the reports, insisting that the striker is still part of the team.
“Our attention has been drawn to news making the rounds that Mfon Udoh has quit our club,” the club said on their Twitter handle.
“There is no truth to this as the player was suspended last week for misconduct and indiscipline.
“He was suspended along with other players, but details were not released to the public.”
