Arsenal on Friday announced that two starlets of Nigerian decent Bukayo Saka and Arthur Okonkwo have signed first professional contract with the club.
Bukayo played a key part in our under-18s side last season made four appearances for Arsenal’s under-23s side. The 17-year-old winger is also an England under-18 international.
Arthur also featured prominently for the Gunners under-18s side last season. The 6ft 5in goalkeeper trained with the Arsenal First Team last season ahead of a Carabao Cup fixture and has since featured in a number of the club’s under-21s and under-23s games. Arthur is also an England under-17 international.
Arsenal Academy Manager, Per Mertesacker said, “Bukayo and Arthur are talented players, who have both excelled through our Hale End Academy. We are delighted that they have signed their first professional contracts with us and we look forward to supporting them further through their development.“
