Zango Local Government Area of Katsina has recorded immunisation of about 47,077 children under the ages of Five against polio in the state.
The council’s director of primary health care, Hajiya Hafsatu Ahmed, said although the government had an initial target of 50,268 children, the records so far is however described as a ‘renewed efforts’ to tackle the virus.
She said the council had received 52,1840 vaccines out of which 51,240 have been used.
Hajiyah Ahmed applauded the state government over his effort in making ready provisions that were needed for the exercise, adding that no case of rejection of vaccine against polio was recorded throughout the exercise.
She as well sent her appreciation to all leaders at every level for their maximum cooperation which helped in the successful carriage of the exercise.
