Why PDP Should Offer Ambode Ticket, Not Otedola - Adeyanju
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode obtains his nomination form.

Former New Media Director of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Deji Adeyanju has called on the National Working Committee of the opposition party to offer Governor Akinwunmi Ambode its Lagos state governorship ticket.

Adeyanju’s call comes following a report that the PDP had offered billionaire Femi Otedola its governorship ticket for Nigeria’s commercial capital.

Media Mogul Dele Momodu had disclosed on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, on Tuesday, that the Forte Oil owner was offered the party’s ticket and that he accepted the offer.

“Lagos 2019 promises to be interesting. PDP offers Femi Otedola governorship ticket. He’s accepted and personally confirmed to The Boss newspaper,” Momodu had tweeted.

Reacting to the report, Adeyanju said giving the ticket to Otedola would be a wrong choice by the opposition party, noting that Ambode had “performed” in the state and as such should be allowed to seek a reelection.

Adeyanju tweeted: “Femi Otedola accepts PDP’s offer to run against Ambode. Wrong move by PDP. The entire NWC of PDP should be in Lagos now Meeting Ambode and offering him the ticket especially now that he is fighting with Tinubu. Ambode has performed. He deserves 2nd term”.
