Former Nigeria international Finidi has urged the Super Eagles to keep up the pace after they bashed Seychelles 3-0 in a 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier.
Goals from Ahmed Musa, Chidozie Awaziem and Odion Ighalo ensured that the three-time African champions got their Afcon qualification back on track.
They had, in June 2017, lost 0-2 to South Africa in the first game of the qualifying series, putting them at risk of missing out of the competition for the third time in a bounce.
While congratulating Gernot Rohr’s men over the victory, Finidi urged them to “keep soaring.”
He tweeted: “Congrats Super Eagles 🦅 … Keep soaring 💯💪🏽.”
Nigeria, third on the Group E standing for the race to Cameroon, will host Libya on October 10.
The Maghreb nation are top of the standing with four points from two games with South Africa having same but second due to inferior goal difference.
Seychelles lie at the bottom of the table with no point as the race for Cameroon heats up.
