Eagles Star Now Focused On Afcon Qualifier With Libya

Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun has moved his focus to the side’s 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier with Libya on October 10.

Nigeria beat Seychelles 3-0 on Saturday in a Group E game of the race to Cameroon next year.

Ahmed Musa, Chidozie Awaziem and Odion Ighalo grabbed a goal each in the clash to give Nigeria’s qualification hopes a boost.

They had lost 2-0 to South Africa in June 2017, their opening game of the qualification series.

Speaking after the Eagles emerged victorious in Victoria, the Brighton defense stalwart lauded the team for doing a great job against the Pirates.

“Job done ✅, on to the next one. #SEYNGA #AFCON2019 #SoarSuperEagles,” he tweeted.

Nigeria are third in the group standing with three points from two games with Libya on top having gathered four points from same number of matches.

The Maghreb nation drew blank with South Africa over the weekend.
