The Federal Government had over time said the terror group has been defeated.

However, the insurgent reportedly invaded Gudumbali, the headquarters of Guzamala Local Government Area in Borno State Friday last week.

The attack led to the death of some soldiers with many residents fleeing to villages around Monguno and Gubio Local Government Areas.

Reacting to the attack, Fayose wondered how a “technically defeated” Boko Haram could still be attacking military base and killing soldiers.

“News on Boko Haram killing our soldiers is disturbing,” the governor tweeted. “May God protect these men who are risking their lives to defend our country.

“Most importantly, FG must tell Nigerians the truth on this “technically defeated” Boko Haram still overrunning military base and killing soldiers.”
