Quadri Aruna has won the men’s singles at the 2018 ITTF-African Championships in Mauritius, beating Egyptian Ahmed Saleh on Sunday.
The Nigeria Open king defeated Saleh 4-1 (11-7, 6-11,13-11, 11-9, 11-1) to lift the crown for the first time.
Quadri now has joins the league of Nigerian winners of the championship like Atanda Mus and Segun Toriola.
The win is the Nigerian’s second medal at the competition as he had earlier grabbed gold with Nigeria’s men’s team.
Similarly, Offiong Edet was beaten by Dina Meshref in the women’s singles final. Offiong lost 4-2 (11-6,7-11, 9-11,11-5, 11-3, 11-6).
