President Muhammadu Buhari wants to use the Trader Moni scheme to buy voters ahead of the Osun governorship election, ex-president aide Reno Omokri has alleged.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo had recently launched the scheme in the South West state.

The Trader Moni initiative is a programme of the Nigerian government meant to empower petty traders with no-interest loans.

However, Omokri has said the move was to ensure Buhari’s All Progressives Congress (APC) wins the Osun election slated for later this month.

He alleged that Buhari and Osinbajo do not have integrity and thus should never be trusted.

“Elections are around the corner and President @MBuhari has secretly paid ₦16.67 billion to Osun as well as give ₦10k tradermoni ‘loans’ to Osun voters,” he tweeted.

“If you still believe Buhari and @ProfOsinbajo have integrity, you might as well believe a prostitute is a virgin! #RenosDarts.”
