Elder statesman Edwin Clark says he has accepted the apology of the Nigeria Police Force for the raid on his residence in Asokoro, Abuja.
In a statement personally signed by him on Friday, Clark thanked those who condemned the search of his home by four police officers on Tuesday.
He, however, demanded a full investigation into the incident to ensure that those involved were brought to justice.
Clark added that the police officers who came to his residence must not be made scapegoats, adding that merely sacking them when they were indeed carrying out official instructions was not enough.
The Ijaw leader also called on the youth in the Niger Delta to maintain calm and allow the authorities to get to the bottom of the matter.
