The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has lamented attacks on its staff by customers in some communities, describing it as “wrong.”
Managing Director of the EKEDC Adeoye Fadeyibi said this on Thursday at a town hall meeting in Mushin area of Lagos.
Fadeyibi said the company has gotten reports of attacks on its staff by some vandals, stressing that offenders would be prosecuted.
“Consumers should support workers who come to rectify faults when reported,” the EKEDC boss said.
“It is wrong for consumers to attack our workers who are on the ladder, it is also an offence to pull them down forcibly.”
He urged customers not to take laws into their hands as the poor power supply or any other issue was not enough to do that.
This is as he restated that the company only gives power to its customers based on the bulk energy load gotten from the National Grid.
