The ruling All Progressives Congress has dismissed the Peoples Democratic Party’s claim that six governors and some senators in the ruling party are planning to join its fold.
Spokesman for the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan, who did not disclose the names of the governors and federal lawmakers, said on Wednesday that the move was an aftermath of discussions the party has had with them.
But in its response, Ologbondiyan’s equivalent in the APC, Yekini Nabena, said that by PDP’s claim, “it is now clear that the party has assumed the role of comic relief ahead of the 2019 general election.
“Nigerians have rejected the PDP and all that it represents – corruption, impunity, waste and greed.”
Nabena added that in the face of imminent defeat in 2019, the PDP had chosen to hide behind lies and false realities to save its face.
He said that while the PDP wallowed in its pains, the President Muhammadu Buhari administration was focused on improving the lives of Nigerians.
