Nigerian actor Jim Iyke has been arrested at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos for slapping a Dana Airline employee.
The arrest was made on Monday afternoon after he refused a security check by a security personnel.
Concise News understands that the actor arrived late for his 12:15pm Abuja flight and he refused help from the airline’s security personnel who wanted to search him before boarding the flight.
A source said Iyke pushed the man away and eventually gave him a dirty slap in the face for insisting to search him.
The source said the actor claimed he was provoked because the man was “wasting his time”.
This forced security officers at the airport to arrest him.
Confirming his arrest, Dana Air’s Media and Communication Manager, Kingsley Ezenwa said, the Nollywood actor was released after he apologised to the airline staff.
Ezenwa said Iyke eventually missed the flight which was still on ground prior to the embarrassing incident.
Alabi Joseph, a Deputy Superintendent of Police who happens to be the Police Public Relations Officer at the Airport confirmed the arrest, adding that the actor tendered an unreserved apology before he was released.
