Cameroon’s President, Paul Biya, has disclosed plans to seek a seventh consecutive term in office in the October election.
85-year-old Biya has been head of state of the West African country for 35 years.
In a post on his Twitter account, he wrote: “I will be your candidate in the next presidential election.”

to ensure a more united, stable & prosperous Cameroon,
I am willing to respond positively to your overwhelming calls.
