Soccer fans in Nigeria on Wednesday reacted to the Three Lions of England’s inability to reach the final of the 2018 Fifa World Cup after Croatia’s Mario Mandzukic grabbed an extra-time goal to end England’s dream of winning the World Cup.
The Three Lions took the lead via a Kieran Trippier free-kick in the 5th minute of the game but Ivan Perisic leveled for the 1998 third-placed finishers.
The ouster has triggered several reactions from Nigerians who took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share their thoughts.
Some of them lamented that the England players were being haunted by the praise showered on them by the british media while others turned it into a joke.
