Justice Danladi Umar remains the chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), the tribunal has insisted.
The CCT is empowered by the Nigerian Constitution to prosecute public officers who contravene asset declaration laws in the country.
Spokesperson of the tribunal, Ibraheem Alhassan, made the clarification during an interview with PRNigeria in Abuja.
The CCT spokesman urged Nigerians to disregard insinuations concerning the status of Justice Umar in the Tribunal.
He stated that contrary to reports, the position of the justice and members of the Tribunal are guaranteed by the Constitution.
