Striker Desire grabbed four goals for the Super Falcons as they mauled The Gambia 6-0 in the second leg of the African Women’s Cup of Nations qualifier on Monday.
Nigeria’s other goals were scored by reigning African Women’s Player of the Year, Asisat Oshoala as the team emerged 7-0 aggregate winners after edging their opponents 1-0 in the first leg.
Following Monday’s win, the Falcons will now head to the 2018 AWCON which will begin in November this year.
Nigeria beat Cameroon in 2016 to win the AWCON crown. The competition also serve as qualifiers for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
