Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti has said that former President Olusegun Obasanjo should stop raising false alarm on plot to arrest him and rather be ready to clear his name of any allegation levelled against him. President Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed that the minister of Information and Culture disobeyed his directive not to reply a letter written by ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo. Dr Obawale Adebisi, the Commissioner for Home Affairs, in a statement on Saturday in Osogbo, said the public holiday was in line with a policy of the state to observe June 12 as Democracy Day every year.

Tuesday, June 12, 2018, has been declared as a work-free day to enable residents to celebrate the Democracy Day, the Ogun state government has said. The Secretary to the state government, Taiwo Adeoluwa disclosed this in a statement on Saturday. He noted that the day would also be used to celebrate the recent conferment of a posthumous national honour of GCFR on Moshood Abiola by President Muhammadu Buhari.
