The House of Representatives says it will investigate one of its members Abdulmumini Kazaure for insinuating that some of his colleagues were plotting to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari.
Kazaure had alleged on Tuesday during an interview with newsmen in Abuja that there was a plot to impeach the commander in chief.
The lawmaker made the allegation shortly after an emergency joint executive session of the National Assembly.
“Nobody will impeach the president as far as we are alive in this House because that day, it will be a war day,” he had said.
And reacting to the allegation, Nicholas Ossai and Kingsley Chinda told the House during Wednesday’s plenary that the lawmaker accused them of gathering signatures to impeach the president.
To this end, Kazaure was directed to appear before the House Committee on Rights and Privileges for questioning.
