Former Presidential New Media aide Reno Omokri has condemned the move by the Federal Government to resume the trial of Senator Dino Melaye (APC-Kogi West).
Concise News had reported that the federal government has urged the Abuja High Court to order the resumption of the trial of Melaye.
The court adjoined Melaye’s trial indefinitely to enable the embattled senator to recuperate.
Nigeria’s Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, made the request on behalf of the government.
The letter addressed to “The Chief Registrar, High Court of FCT, Maitama, Abuja” was titled, ‘Re; Charge No. CR/106/18: FRN V Senator Dino Melaye; Request for a date for trial’.
Reacting in a post on Twitter, Omokri wrote: “Just imagine that the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, who asked a court to stop the Senate’s probe on Maina’s reinstatement, has now written to an Abuja high court to ask the judge to immediately resume @dino_melaye’s trial.
“Is there still justice in Nigeria?”
