Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has backed the Super Eagles to make it out, alongside Argentina, from Group D of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
According to the former Real Madrid tactician, the three-time African champions will trail the South Americans in the group.
Mourinho, however, admitted that it would be a tough battle in the group but expect the Lionel Messi-led team to emerge winners.
”In group D, the first place will be taken by Lionel Messi-led Argentina,” Mourinho told Russia Television network RT.
“Second place, very difficult choice, but I put [my bet] on the African team, Nigeria.”
Nigeria will take on the Czech Republic in a warm up encounter on Wednesday in Austria before heading to Russia where they take on Argentina, Iceland and Croatia at the competition’s group stages.
