Home-based Nigeria goaltender Ikechukwu Ezenwa will wear his country’s number one jersey at this year’s Fifa World Cup in Russia.
Francis Uzoho, who is the team’s first choice, will wear the number 23 shirt, while the number 16 shirt is meant for South Africa-based Daniel Akpeyi.
According to a 59-second video released by the team, captain of the side, Mikel Obi, retains his number 10, Leon Balogun gets number six and Byran Idowu’s name will be on the number two shirt.
For the strikers, Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho will be identified as players in number 18 and 14 jerseys, even as Ogenyi Onazi gets number 17.
Wilfred Ndidi will wear number four, Tyronne Ebuehi will be seen in number 21, and Chidozie Awaziem is expected to be in the number 20 jersey while Abdullahi Shehu holds 12.
The Super Eagles will confront Czech Republic on Wednesday in another international friendly aimed at putting them in the right fettle for the football festival.
