Lallana is on the standby list for the World Cup after only starting one Premier League game this season due to injury.

England’s players, apart from Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold, are due to meet up at The Grove on Wednesday night ahead of two days of training before facing Nigeria on Saturday.

Henderson and Alexander-Arnold will attend the Nigeria game at Wembley, train on their own at St George’s Park on Sunday while the other squad members have a day off and formally take part in their first full training session on Monday.

Sky Sports News understands Phil Jones may not be included in England’s matchday squad to face Nigeria because his partner is due to give birth.
