Nigerian entertainment lawyer, Lydia C. Agu (Hills) has filed a lawsuit against American music legend R. Kelly, 51, over sexual assault.
Lydia Agu who is heavily pregnant revealed this on her Instagram page on Tuesday, May 22.
New York Times gathered from the filed suit that a woman sued the singer on Monday in a Manhattan court, accusing him of sexual battery, false imprisonment and failure to disclose a sexually transmitted disease.
It was gathered that Agu seeks unspecified damages for this recent suit from a steam of several fingers pointing at the singer for several alleged sexual misconducts.
The woman being represented by Agu, Faith A. Rodger from Texas, said she met the singer in March at 19.
According to the suit filed on Monday, May 21, the “trapped in the closet” singer arranged for her to fly to New York, where he “initiated unwanted sexual contact” in a hotel room. Rodgers also added “non-consensual oral and vaginal intercourse” to the complaint.
The lawsuit stated that R. Kelly who was infected with herpes, did not inform the woman who is now 20.
Lydia Agu further accused the singer of “routinely engaged in intimidation, mental, verbal and sexual abuse, during and after sexual contact,” for almost one year.
The suit revealed similar claims by other women that Kelly recorded his sexual encounters with Rodgers without her consent and often locked her in secluded areas to torment her.
Agu said, “No woman, especially an underaged woman, should have to experience this type of abuse and humiliation.
“It is my goal to not only seek justice for my client but to hopefully put an end to this behavior which has somehow been going on for so many years. R. Kelly is one of the most talented R&B singers the world has come to know, but enough is enough,” the entertainment lawyer added.
