Kwara United brightened their hopes of escaping relegation from the top-flight with a 3-1 hammering of visiting Mountain of Fire on Sunday in the NPFL.
Segun Alebiosu opened the scoring for the Afonja Warriors in the 16th minute after an MFM defender failed to clear his line at the far end.
But the Lagos-based side responded thanks to Sikiru Olatunbosun, who profited from a through pass from Onuwa Chukwuka inside the penalty area.
United were kept at bay throughout the remaining minutes of the first-half, struggling to get the needed goal to guarantee a win.
Stephen Alfred converted a spot kick in the 48th minute and Sunday Odudu found the net in the 75th to put the game beyond the former Caf Champions League campaigners.
Kwara now lie in 18th spot on 26 points from 22 league matches, while MFM are 13th.
