Former Deputy Governor of Osun State Iyiola Omisore has dismissed news making rounds that he has dropped his gubernatorial ambition.
In a statement by his media team on Wednesday, the former lawmaker described the rumour as the handiwork of his political detractors and enemies of progress.
Omisore noted that the news that he had jettisoned his gubernatorial ambition as “one of their antics of misinforming the good people of Osun state especially now that the governorship election is fast approaching.”
The former deputy governor said the rumour was part of the series of wicked lies packaged by his political enemies to confuse people of the state.
He said: “This is to state emphatically that I, Senator Iyiola Omisore is still in the race for the governorship election in our dear Osun state scheduled to hold on September, 22, this year.
“My ambition to contest the governorship election remains intact and unshaking by the Special grace of God. I am saying here that I have not and will not shy away from my determination to liberate the people of Osun state by serving them as the next governor of Osun state.”
Omisore while describing the rumour of his withdrawal from the race as figment of the imagination of some desperate politicians asked his teeming supporters to disregard the rumour and continue to work and pray for his victory in the September governorship poll in the state.
