The Bishop of Asaba Diocese Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) Rev. Justus Mogekwu has enjoined Christians to continue praying for the peace of the country.

Mogekwu made the call at the 3rd session of the 14th Synod Anglican Communion, Asaba Diocese, held in Delta with the theme: “The Lord of Hosts, Mighty in Battle.”

“Prayer is the key to surmount all challenges facing the country. God who answers prayers will never forsake the country if only the people will turn away from evil and do His will at all time,” he said.

“The Federal Government should, as a matter of urgency take decisive steps to put a stop to the spate of killings in the country and prosecute those found culpable.”

He also lauded the governor of the state and urged politicians not to heat up the polity, especially as the 2019 general election is fast approaching.
