Ace Nigerian singer Brymo has taken credit for being the one who introduced Nigerians to the growing “Alternative” genre.
The daring artiste, whose voice about his achievements in music had sparked outrage on social media in the past, made this claim on Instagram.
According to him, he introduced the alternative genre in 2013 as a cure to the ills of the mainstream music.
He wrote, “In the Nigerian music scene, the ‘alternative’ was invented by me in 2013 as a cure to the ills of the mainstream, not to be a part of it.
“to be ‘alternative’ means that the process of recording, performing, distributing and rating your work is different from the mainstream.”
