Kano Pillars have cut Lobi Stars’ at the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League to three after a 1-0 win over Akwa United on Wednesday in a rescheduled game.

Skipper of the Sai Masu Gida Rabiu Ali netted the only goal from the spot in the 39th minute.

‎Pillars now occupy second position in the table with 39 points from 19 games.

Their manager Ibrahim Musa said in spite of the slim victory, his team were getting back to shape, while assistant handler of the Promise Keepers Aliyu Zubair blamed the weather for his team’s defeat.
