Benue residents on Tuesday trooped to Bishop Murray Medical Centre, Makurdi, capital of Benue state, to catch a glimpse of the dead after an attack on St. Ignatius’ Catholic Church in Ayar-Mbalom community.
The residents, who could not fight back tears as they recollected how the suspected attacked the church during an early mass.
It was learned that gunmen broke into the church around 5am on Thursday and by the time the attack was over, many people, including two priests, were found dead.
Spokesman for the Catholic diocese of Makurdi, Fr. Mose Lorapuu, also confirmed the killing of Rev. Fr Joseph Gor and another Priest and 19 Parishioners.
