Wolves have been promoted to the Premier League after Fulham conceded a last-gasp equaliser against Brentford.

Wolves could have sealed their return to the top flight with victory over Birmingham on Sunday, but ended a six-year exile a day earlier without kicking a ball after late drama in west London on Saturday evening.

The runaway leaders needed Fulham to drop points and though Aleksandar Mitrovic put Slavisa Jokanovic’s side on course for victory, Neal Maupay’s 94th-minute strike for Brentford was to spark celebrations in the Midlands, as well as in the away end at Craven Cottage.

Wolves, who have been top of the Championship since November 18, host Birmingham in front of the Sky Sports cameras on Sunday at what will be a triumphant Molineux.
