Argentina captain and Barcelona Forward Lionel Messi has acquired a luxury Hotel in Ibiza, around east coast of Spain.
According to media reports, Messi completed the acquisition of the Hotel Es Vive a few days ago.
This is the footballer’s latest investment, as he looks forward to retiring in no distant time.
It was gathered that because of the Argentine star, the expansion of El Prat Airport in Barcelona has been neglected.
Although, Spanish Vueling airline President, Javier Sanchez-Prieto, said that was not the case.
In a chat with Esade University Barcelona, Sanchez-Prieto said,
“You cannot pass over where Messi lives.”
“This doesn’t happen anywhere else in the world,” he added.
Meanwhile, it was also reported that the athlete once bought his neighbour’s home, to reduce the noise around his home.
Messi has expanded his investment with a luxury hotel which cost about £226.
