Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is not happy with England over the injury picked up by midfielder Jack Wilshere while on international duty.

The Frenchman believes managers of the Three Lions could have handled the 26-year-old better than they did.

Wilshere sustained an injury in training on the eve of England’s friendly against the Netherlands on Friday.

He has not featured for the side since Euro 2016.

The player consequently pulled out of the squad entirely and returned to Arsenal after being ruled out of Tuesday’s game against Italy at Wembley.

And reports have it that Wenger is not happy with the way Wilshere was ‘managed’ during his time with his country’s national team.

The Daily Star claim England manager Gareth Southgate avoided a ‘flashpoint’ with Wenger only because the midfielder is likely to be available for Sunday’s Premier League clash against Stoke City.

There are fears Wilshere could now miss out on a spot in England’s World Cup squad after being denied a chance to prove himself against the Netherlands and Italy.
