Senator Ben Murray-Bruce (PDP-Bayelsa East) has stated that if the economy is fixed and jobs provided prominent individuals won’t need men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) protecting them.
The Lawmaker made this known in series of post on his Twitter account on Monday.
He noted that #DapchiGirls would not have been abducted by Boko Haram if policemen were guarding their school.
Murray-Bruce wrote: “The most effective security Nigerian VIPs can have is not devoting 150,000 policemen to guarding big men.
“The most effective security is for the ruling class to lead Nigeria effectively, improve the economy and provide jobs. Then they won’t need 150,000 policemen guarding them!
“Boko Haram could abduct Dapchi Girls because their school had no security.
“The 150,000 policemen currently guarding Nigeria’s VIPs are more than sufficient to guard all the schools in the Northeast.
“Imagine if these officers were guarding schools in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states.”
