British-Nigerian soul singer Sade Adu has recorded a new song titled “Flower of the Universe” for an upcoming American film.
The title of the movie is “A Wrinkle In Time”.
“Flower Of The Universe” is Adu’s first music effort since she went awol eight years back.
From being the “Smooth Operator” icon to taking on an original song for a movie in 2018, the director of the movie, Ava DuVernay excitedly shared the news on Twitter.
She wrote: “I never thought she’d say yes, but asked anyway. She was kind + giving.
“A goddess. We began a journey together that I’ll never forget.”
“A Wrinkle in Time” is an American science fiction film from a screenplay by Jennifer Lee, based on the 1962 novel of the same title by Madeleine L’Engle.
The film will be released on March 9.
The DuVernay’s film features Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Peña, Storm Reid and others.
Iranian-German composer, Ramin Djawadi – best known for writing the score to ‘Game of Thrones’– will provide original composition.
