Containers of goods at customs port. File

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has disclosed that it intercepted four containers full of banned and controlled drugs.

The interception and subsequent arrest of a suspect were done by the Apapa Command of the Service.

The disclosure was made to newsmen in Lagos by the Customs Area Comptroller, Musa Jinrin.

He said the containers -MRSU 3637149, MRKU 6196764, MRSU 3516384 and MRKU 6058282- had a duty paid value (DPV) of N49.9m.

According to him, the interception of the goods came as a result of good intelligence gathering.

He added that the service had in the last month generated revenue of N35.5bn, N4bn more than what it recorded during the same period in 2017.
