A members of the Anambra state House of Assembly has dismissed reports of a face-off with Governor Willie Obiano over the recent concluded 2018 budget defence by the ministries.

This is following reports in some quarters that the delay in the 2018 budget defence was as a result of the face-off between the governor and the lawmakers.

Speaking to newsmen at the House of Assembly complex on Monday, the chairman of Finance and Appropriation Committee, Hon. Obinna Emenaka described the allegation as baseless, unfounded and the handiwork of mischief makers who do not have the interest of the state at heart.

He said: “We have no problem with our amiable, hardworking and people-friendly governor.

“It is laughable that those whose stock in trade is to pull down not only Governor Willie Obiano but the entire state is at work.”

The lawmaker advised the people of the state to shun the rumour mongers and join hands with the Obiano government to move the state to an enviable position.

Emenaka explained that the little delay in kick starting the budget defence was due to some logistic problems.
