Kenyan-born Frenchman Abraham Kiprotich has won the 2018 Lagos City Marathon. He arrived the finish line in exactly 2hrs 8mins.
Herpha Guta of Ethiopia also won the women’s edition of the race. She did it in 2hrs 38mins.
Participants defied an early morning rain to run in the race which started at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
The rain, which started at about 5 a.m., did not hinder participants, who turned out in their thousands, from participating.
More than 100,000 people participated in the IAAF Bronze Label Race which offers 208,000 dollars for grabs.
And here comes the winner of the 2018 edition of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, who finished in an unconfirmed record time of 2:15:04. #LagosCityMarathon #RunLagos @Newtelegraphng @OgaNlaMedia @akinnzo @PoojaMedia @adekunlesalami @obaadeniji @Mekus_Mekus @OAikhoje @olywal pic.twitter.com/C6EXyCJqyb
