Senator Ben Murray-Bruce (PDP-Bayelsa East) on Sunday said the real question to ask regarding the first statement by former military president Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB) is whether the facts are true or not.
In the IBB statement, the former head of state asked President Muhammadu Buhari not to seek re-election in 2019.
However, there was purportedly another statement denying the remarks.
In a post on his Twitter page, Murray-Bruce insists that IBB’s initial statement was authorized.
He wrote: “Even though I believe that the statement was authorized, the issue is that we should not be arguing about whether it is authorized or not.
“What should be important is this: Is what the statement says about President Buhari true or not. That is the bottom line.”
