Arsenal have reportedly agreed a four-year deal worth £8.7 million with former Real Madrid coach Carlos Ancelotti.
Although Arsene Wenger has one year left on his contract, there are strong indications the Frenchman is unlikely to finish it.
And club’s chiefs are said to be looking at Ancelotti to step in in case their long-term romance with Wenger ends in the summer.
Some other managers have been linked with succeeding Wenger, such as Thomas Tuchel, Eddie Howe and Sean Dyche.
However, Italian publication Corriere dello Sport reports that Arsenal now have an agreement in place for Ancelotti to become their next manager this summer.
There could also be a hindrance to the former Bayern Munich gaffer taking up the job as the Italian FA wants him to handle the national team.
The former Chelsea manager wants to return to the Premier League and will move back to London in February.
