Senator Ben Murray-Bruce (PDP-Bayelsa East) has condemned the move by the Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, to stop the senate from probing his involvement in the reinstatement of ex-pension boss, Abdulrasheed Maina.

The request made by Malami to stop the Senate investigation was on Monday rejected by the Federal High Court, Abuja.

Reacting in a post on Twitter, Murray-Bruce noted that the move by Malami gives the impression that the Federal Government has something to hide.

He wrote: “Why should the government go to court to attempt to stop the probe into Maina’s reinstatement? Don’t they want to know the truth?

“That action was very ill advised in my opinion. It gives of the impression that the Federal Government has something to hide in this Maina affair.”
