Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has called on journalists to ensure professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
He made the call on Friday during the commissioning of the Press Conference at Alausa in Ikeja, Lagos.
Ambode urged them to maintain credibility by being factual, adding that this is what will sustain the media in Nigeria.
The governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rotimi Ogunleye, also reiterated the government’s resolve to back the media.
“This administration has taken steps to ensure that the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre is upgraded, in terms of physical infrastructure and the facilities so that our media practitioners can work in an environment that is in tune with global standard,” Governor Ambode said.
He said the upgrade of the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre was to empower journalists to perform their duties maximally.
